Season's greetings on our Christmas tree

Christmas greetings from IH | Photo: Tom Walton

We have a Christmas tree in Reception and our tradition is that staff and students write our seasonal greetings and wishes for the New Year on a card and hang it on the tree.

So far this year, we've got messages in Catalan, Chinese, English, French, Hindi, Korean, Japanese, Norwegian and (of course!) Spanish. Well, we do get people from all over the world studying Spanish with us…

If you'd like to leave yours, ask for a card in Reception. If you're not here in Barcelona, why not leave your message in the comments?

Origami raffle ticket crane | Tom Walton

IH Barcelona is collaborating with the Centre Català de Kansai on its project Japó no t'oblidem to help children in need in Japan (if you wish to participate, you can join in on Facebook).

Among their fund-raising activities, they have a raffle on and we love their raffle tickets, origami cranes (see photo) with the ticket numbers stuck to the underside of the wing.

You could just buy a book of raffle tickets but these have been created with so much more love.

If you want some extra practice while you are here you'll find them useful and if you want to carry on with your Spanish once you're back home, an online course is a great way to keep on learning.

From the computers in the Internet Room, you have free unlimited access to all the materials in the five levels of the online General Spanish course, which are provided courtesy of Net Languages.
