Welcome to football crazy Barcelona | Photo: Tom Walton
Expect a certain amount of craziness over the football this week and either riotous celebrations on Wednesday and Sunday or else deathly silence.
Meanwhile, join us for some real culture… 😉 !
- Tuesday 17th | Our walk this afternoon takes us to the Manzana de la Discordia, the block on Passeig de Gracia with three of Barcelona's best examples of Modernista architecture — the Casa Batlló (Gaudí); the Casa Amatller (Puig i Cadafalch); and the Casa Lleó i Morera (Domènech i Montaner); as well as to the Casa Milà (also by Gaudí), which is further up the street on the other side (16.00).
- Wednesday 18th | Our walk this afternoon takes us to visit the lovely Parque de la Ciudadela. We'll also be going to the Eiffel-Tower-inspired Estación de Francia. If you're interested in architecture, and the history of Barcelona, there are some fascinating things to see on today's trip (16.00).
- Thursday 19th | Come along with us to see the Sagrada Familia today. If you want to go inside, note that it costs a minimum of €15 to get in and that it's best to book online and reserve a time. You might also want to start planning your trip back to Barcelona to see the Sagrada Familia finished in 2026 (16.00)!
- Friday 20th | Come get yourself some extra Spanish practice at our Friday Club language exchange (in the bar/on the terrace, 19.00-21.00).
Join us in Spanish Reception (C floor), unless otherwise stated, at the times given above.
Also this week | For Barça, the two biggest games of the season so far: in the Champions, the return last-16 game Barça vs Manchester City, with Barça already 2-1 up (Wednesday, kick-off 20.45); and then, in the Spanish League, Barça vs Real Madrid (Sunday, kick-off 21.00).
