This week in Barcelona: dragons, labyrinths… and murder?

Friday Club

This week's Friday Club (see below)

The social programme for this week in Barcelona. Come along, it's a great way to get some extra practice for your Spanish!

  • Tuesday 21st | Come with this afternoon for a stroll down the Ramblas, to discover some of the amazing things on and just off it — including one of our favourite Barcelona dragons and the Palau Guell, one of the few Modernista buildings to be found outside the Eixample district (16.00).
  • Wednesday 22nd | First laid out in 1791, the Laberinto de Horta is one of the most romantic of the hidden corners of Barcelona (as well as being one of the settings for Tom Tykwer's 2006 film Perfume: The Story of a Murderer). Come along and see it with us (16.00).
  • Thursday 23rd | The 1992 Olympics changed large parts of Barcelona — among them Montjuïc [Flickr | Wikipedia], which is where we're going this afternoon. Bring your camera or phone along: the views are fantastic (16.00)!
  • Friday 24th | The theme for this week's Friday Club is Who did what?, as you can from the poster, above. Friday Club is always something of a surprise so we can't tell you what it involves but come along to practise your Spanish anyway, it's always fun! In the bar/on the terrace, 19.00-21.00.

Join us in Spanish Reception (C floor), unless otherwise stated, at the times given above.

Until July 31st | The huge number of events on at the Grec Festival (theatre, dance, music, circus…).

Until August 7 | Sala Montjuic, open-air film festival (Mon., Wed., Fri.); see full programme. Don't forget your picnic!
