Come with us on our social programme after class and see some of Barcelona's many contrasting sights…

  • Tuesday 2nd | Join us today on our walk round the Barrio Gótico, the old part of the city of Barcelona. You could and will go on your own — but come with us and you'll discover some of the wonderful things to be found there (16.00).
  • Wednesday 3rd | Our trip this afternoon takes us to the lovely gardens of the Palacio Real de Pedralbes, which was home to the Spanish monarchy 1919-1931 whenever they visited the city (and is now also home to a cool summer music festival). We'll also be going to see the amazing Gaudí dragon on the gate of the Finca Güell, the summer home of Eusebi Güell, Gaudí's great patron (16.00).
  • Thursday 4th | Come along with us to see the Sagrada Familia today. George Orwell reckoned it was "one of the most hideous buildings in the world" and thought  the Civil War Anarchists "showed bad taste in not blowing it up" (!!). But don't take old George's word for it: come along with us and judge for yourself. If you want to go inside, note that it costs a minimum of €15 and that it's best to book online and reserve a time (16.00).
  • Friday 5th | Carnival isn't really the huge event in Barcelona that it is elsewhere, but we've a special Carnaval (as we say in Spanish) edition of our popular Friday Club this week (in the bar/on the terrace, 19.00-21.00).

Join us in Spanish Reception (C floor), unless otherwise stated, at the times given above.

Also this week | Copa, Semi-final first leg, Barça vs Valencia (Wednesday, kick-off 21.00).
