The Casa Amatller was one of the Modernista houses we went to yesterday on the social program.
It was built by Josep Puig i Cadafalch between 1898 and 1900 for the chocolate-maker Antoni Amatller and is right next door to Gaudí's Casa Batlló (and no doubt the Amatllers was somewhat put out when the neighbours got themselves a more spectacular design!)
But the façades aside, there's so much to admire in the details of Modernista architecture — like the lamps in the hallway, for example.
