Last chance but one for Barça to win the League

There are just two games left in the Spanish league and if Real Madrid fail to win away to Zaragoza tonight (TV3, 21.00h) and Barça beat city rivals Español (Canal Plus, 21.00h), Barça will go top. With the one remaining game for Barça (June 17th) being away to bottom-of-the-table Nastic, Barça will have all but won the league.

If you don't get to the game, get to a bar and watch it on the telly. If Barça go top, head down to the top of the Ramblas after the game for the celebrations.

Trash People in Barcelona

Trash People, Barcelona

Trash People, Plaza Real Barcelona | Photo: Tom Walton

Only for a week, until June 9, we have 300 of HA Schult's Trash People adorning the Plaza Real in the city centre.

Constructed mostly out of tin cans with the odd computer component thrown in, they occupy most of the square. "We live in the trash time: we produce trash and we become trash. Therefore HA Schult's 'Trash People' are images of ourselves", according to the Trash People website (link below).

To be honest, I'd have been more impressed if they didn't appear to be mass-produced, weren't laid out in rigidly straight lines and weren't all the same height… Perhaps I'm missing something!

Sting at the Friday Club

Sting at the Friday Club

Sting and the Police at this week's Friday Club (June 8th)

Yeah, ok, Sting won't actually be here in person, but if you're a fan and failed miserably to get one of the 55,000 tickets that went on sale for the Police Barcelona concert on September 27, come along for an evening of music at this week's Friday Club language exchange.

About the Friday Club
The Friday Club meets every Friday, 19.00 to 21.00, in the bar at IH Barcelona.
