If you keep your eye open when you wander around Barcelona, you'll find lots of examples of heavy, ornate door-knockers like the one in our picture.

The rather scary white lines you can see on it are another, much more lamentable feature of Barcelona's streets, particularly in the Old City (the Barrio Gótico): they've been sprayed with graffiti, very little of it of any artistic value.

Stroll around Barcelona and you'll notice them. Barcelona's door-knockers come in all shapes and sizes — hands and scary faces and dragons, just to give you three examples.

The size of it, and the rust patches on the one in our photo today make it look like a snake but we still reckon it's a dragon as it did smell quite distinctly of smoke…

Hay mil detalles por las calles de Barcelona, sobretodo animales escondidos y petrificados de todo tipo en paredes, farolas, maceteros, (en un techo de la catedral, por ejemplo, hay un caracol secreto: ¡premio para quien lo encuentre!).

El dragón de la foto está en una puerta de una casa cualquiera y es un picaporte, que sirve, como su nombre indica para llamar a la puerta.

Paseantes de la ciudad: Atención a los animales escondidos, os sorprenderán.
